You can make flower beds around your home, around a tree in the yard, around landscape decor such as a birdbath, bushes near the border of your yard, etc. Plants can include flowers, bushes, ground cover, etc. If you have to water the plants make sure that you can reach them with the garden hose.

Landscape Decor

Using this type of decor in your home will attract attention to your guests. They are also the focal points of your landscape and can include birdbaths, hanging baskets on poles by your deck or patio, bird feeders, squirrel feeders, clay pottery like vases to hold fresh flowers from your garden, etc.

If you decide to put hanging plants around your deck or patio make sure that people are not going to hit their head on the hanging baskets or trip over the poles they are hung from.

You can also install solar lights around different areas of your landscape to highlight what you are growing there. Solar lights will also help prevent people from stepping in your flower gardens and from tripping over things and getting hurt.

If you have a big enough area in the yard you can add a swing or concrete or wrought iron bench where you can go for peace and relaxation. You can also include a waterfall in this area or any other area in your home.

Listening to water running can be a relaxing sound. In a small landscape, the perfect size waterfall would be one that is two feet tall. There are many different types of waterfalls you can get.

When planting your flowers or bushes make sure that you are using a variety of colors and textures. You should also vary the heights of the plants you are using in your home to give your yard a unique look.
